Honorary Secretary's Report for the year 2011-12

Dear Members,

I welcome you all in this 37th Annual General Meeting of M.B.M. Engineering College Alumni Association. Our Association is now grown up. Continuous efforts are being made for the cause of our Alma Mater. We at Associations are making our sincere efforts on regular basis with our members located all over individually and through chapters for contributing the efforts made by the Association for upliftment of our Alma Mater. It is heartening to note that overwhelming response has been received from the members and chapters located away from the town.

M.B.M. Engineering College being the oldest engineering college of the country needs to be upgraded to the status of NIT. Serious efforts were made by the Association by approaching the highest authorities of the State and a road map was also presented to them that how this institution can be upgraded to the status of NIT. It looks that further efforts are required in this direction. I appeal to all the Association Members, Chapters working in other cities and Faculty Members to supplement the efforts of the Association for upgrading M.B.M. Engineering College to NIT.

It has been felt that infrastructure facilities presently in the College need to be upgraded as present facilities are not adequate to cater to the needs of the inrush of the students. The Association have identified various projects and have also made efforts for arranging funds for these projects. Apart from construction of Lecture Theater in past, the Association have managed for construction of three more lecture theaters, shortage of which was felt not only by the Association but also by the faculty members. I request all the members and outside working chapters of the Association to generously contribute towards the various projects identified by the Association for improving the facilities for the students in the College. We must keep in our mind that whatever we are at present is because of our Alma Mater and we should return back to our Alma Mater in order to bring back the past glory. Let us join our hands for achievement of the above goal.
