ADDRESS OF THE PRESIDENT TO 46th GENERAL BODY MEETING TO BE HELD ON 30th JULY 2023

Dear Members

I welcome you, on behalf of Executive Committee and on my own behalf, to 46th General Body meeting. First of all, we will like to thank, the Alumni at large and members of Alumni Association in particular, for extending such a overwhelming support to us during last Four years. Whatever has been achieved in last Four years is because of Whole Hearted support. I hope we have lived up to the Expectations of the Alumni.

This being the last General Body meeting of my tenure as President of Alumni Association, I will like to thank you all once again from core of my heart for giving me an opportunity to serve our Àlma Mater for Four Years in the capacity of President of Alumni Association. For me,  it was Soul Enriching period.

Friends, Four years ago when a few Alumni approached me and requested my consent to be nominated as President of Association, they mainly had, completion of Girls Hostel Project on their agenda. I requested them to give me 24 hours to think about it. After careful thought, I came to the conclusion that Shri Ashok Gehlot being CM of State in his third term, this may be the most opportune time to get Autonomous Status for the MBM Engineering College. If we miss this opportunity, same may not be available in the near future. With this Goal in mind, I consented to their request.

I feel extremely satisfied that we could achieve Both Long Cherished Goals of Alumni Association

  1. MBM as MBM University, Jodhpur and
  2. A Wonderful Girls Hostel to accommodate 300 Girls, costing about Rs Seven Crores.

during last four years in spite of the fact that One and Half year of this period was infected by COVID-19 lock downs.

It gives me great satisfaction, that even during COVID-19, Our Association not only continued to achieve our own Objectives but also served the Society at large, by providing Masks, Sanitizers etc. to front line workers during the first phase of COVID-19 and Oxygen Concentrators during Second phase of COVID-19, costing around Rs 50 lakhs.

ALL THIS BECAME POSSIBLE ONLY BECAUSE, WE ALL WORKED AS A TEAM.

Dear Alumni now that we have MBM as

MBM UNIVERSITY JODHPUR,

SKY is the limit for achieving New Heights by MBM.

To help MBM University these new heights, Association has established Two New Endowment Funds

  1. Research, Innovation and Start Up Endowment Fund
  2. Academic Activities Support Endowment Fund

I am happy to share that Er Kamal Mirchandani 62 Elect. and Er Prabhakar Keshker 65 E have contributed Rs 10 lakhs each to  the Research, Innovation and Start Up Endowment Fund and 96 Silver Jubilee batch has contributed Rs 5 lakhs for Academic Activities Support Endowment Fund to give a kick start to these Endowment Funds. Our heartfelt Appreciation for their gracious contribution. I will Appeal all the Alumni to come forward and contribute Generously to these Endowment Funds to Support MBM University achieve new heights.

I will like to place on record my heartfelt Thanks and Appreciation for all office bearers for their unflinching support to me all along.

Thank you all once again.
