MBM University Introduces Bachelor of Planning Course: A First for Government Colleges in Rajasthan

MBM University has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first government college in Rajasthan to introduce a Bachelor of Planning course. This new academic offering comes in response to the growing need for urban planning and development, driven by increasing urbanization. The course will be available starting this academic session, with an intake capacity of 60 students.

The Bachelor of Planning program is structured over four years and eight semesters. The curriculum includes a diverse range of subjects aimed at equipping students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in various aspects of planning and urban development. The first four semesters will focus on foundational subjects such as core planning, technical aspects, and basic skills. The fifth and sixth semesters will delve into practical training and research methodologies. In the final two semesters, students will engage in governance-related topics and conduct independent scientific research projects.

Dr. Kamlesh Kumar, Head of the Architecture and Planning Faculty at MBM University, emphasized the comprehensive and industry-aligned nature of the planning curriculum. He stated that the course aims to fulfill the rising demand for professional planners capable of addressing urban challenges and contributing to sustainable development.

Prof. Ajay Sharma, Vice Chancellor of MBM University, highlighted the increasing demand for qualified planners at both national and global levels. He underscored the importance of the Bachelor of Planning course in preparing students for the diverse and dynamic field of urban planning and development.
