Presidential Address –1st /2023-25 Executive Committee Meeting of MBM Engineering College Alumni Association

Dear Esteemed Alumni,

I am deeply honoured and privileged to address you as the newly elected President of the MBM Engineering College Alumni Association. As we embark on a new chapter together, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for entrusting me with this responsibility. With your support, I am confident that we can make this term a memorable one where we can have a fruitful cooperation with the newly formed MBM University, continue with current activities, and embark on a new task to expand our alumni network. Our shared journey at MBM Engineering College (now MBM University) has forged bonds that transcend time and distance. It is with this spirit we present to you some of the proposed goals and activities while continuing nearly 50 years of Association work. The previous team has smoothed the working of the Association.  Every one of you and various teams over the years have contributed to the association’s working and friendship.

Alumni-Student Industry Connect: Facilitate opportunities for our current students by connecting them with alumni who can provide insights into various industries. Help shape the career paths of the next generation. We aim to expand our program to provide more meaningful connections between alumni and current students. Your guidance can shape the aspirations of the next generation.

Alumni Networking: In recognition of our diverse and widespread alumni community, we’re planning an immersive virtual reunion that transcends borders. Reconnect with old friends and make new connections, all from the comfort of your home.

E-newsletter: As we strive to strengthen our alumni network, we need to encourage you to share your success stories, professional accomplishments, or any other news you would like to feature in our newsletter. Your achievements are a testament to the quality education we offer at MBM.

Alumni Achievement Awards: Nominate exceptional alumni who have made significant contributions to their fields. Celebrate their accomplishments and be inspired by their stories of success. These awards be named after founder Principal, Professors etc.

Inspirational Speaker Series: Let’s draw from the experiences of accomplished alumni who have carved remarkable paths in various domains. Through their stories, we can find inspiration and guidance to navigate our journeys. This can be in campus and online mode.

Because of the formation of MBM University, We have to think about the future direction of the Alumni Association through necessary changes in the constitution of our association, online elections, chapters of our association, etc. We need to expand the alumni network and start a campaign to enroll more life members. We have to involve a maximum number of Alumni in our activities. We would survey our Alumni (members or non-members). We may use Survey Monkey, google forms, and similar tools to seek suggestions.

Important is 75th year of MBM Engineering College’s establishment and the 50th year of Alumni Association formation are approaching and during these two years we have to plan for various activities and events. We may plan Visiting Professorships, visiting fellows, and Project fellows. We must appropriately plan may be through International Seminar Expert Talks and Workshops, virtual internships for students, etc. All are requested to please provide your advice and views. We must generate resources for these activities. Those who wish to contribute towards the research and innovation fund, internships fund, and visiting Professorship/ Fellows fund which would help in bridging the shortage of Faculty.

Our team is thrilled to work for our alumni association and to collaborate with you all. Let’s try to continue the good work of our previous teams, as we uphold the values and traditions that define our esteemed alma mater. Your continued support and active participation drive the success of our alumni association

Warm regards,

Sushil Bhandari
